Effects of Pollution, in 3D!

Mrs. Jenny Mountford of the Abbeville County 4-H brought in her 3D EnviroScape Watershed model to provide hands-on, interactive demonstrations for the 5th grade students of John C. Calhoun Elementary School. These demonstrations showed the students several ways the effects of pollution have on our water sources as well as ways to prevent pollution that affects our land and oceans. It also demonstrated how the natural process of a storm, (rain) can be destructive and cause changes such as erosion and deposition in our land forms. The students were able to see how storm water runoff carries pollutants through the water shed to a lake and/or river that will eventually lead into our oceans.
