Long Cane Primary students in Abbeville celebrated a week of reading fun in honor of Dr. Seuss’ birthday and his contribution to literacy. Each day of the week had a special theme related to a Dr. Seuss book.  Principal Millie Ricketts dressed as the Cat in the Hat and read The Cat in the Hat to the whole school, and the students had a “hat day”. The students wore green and ate “green eggs and ham” for Seuss’ Green Eggs and Ham day! The students wore a shirt you could read for I Can Read with My Eyes Shut! For the book, Fox in Socks, the students wore crazy socks! It was a fun, literacy-filled week! Shown here is the Cat in the Hat (Principal Millie Ricketts) with Paige Roberson and Shirley Phillips’ 4K Class.
